8K+ blocked in DFU please Help

Hi,
Today PiTools told me there was a firmware for my 8K+, so I clicked installed. I think it’s version 268.
The casque entered in DFU mode , led cycling red, green, blue.
And then Pitools said Firmware update failed.
Since my headset in stuck in DFU when I reboot my PC , I tried unpluging repluging the headset on different USB port, include USB-C on my GPU
I tried DFuSeCommand with P2.DFU , but even this tool doesn’t find my headset.

c:\DRIVERS\Pimax\DFUupgrade>DfuSeCommand.exe 1 p2.dfu
0 Device(s) found. Plug your DFU Device !

I use my 8K+ for e-sport in iRacing, i need a quick-fix before the WE or my champ is done :frowning:

I created a ticket in the support, but if you guys can help me try other thing meanwhile, please.

Best regards,
Seb

Unplug the displayport and flash manually the firmware via https://drive.google.com/file/d/1vLw7jT0Bv4cPqpRTFRX7k1-Gq-Uhimnb/view
take the dfu data from the pitool folder.

dont forget to stop pitool task in taskmanager

is it going into dfu mode? what light is showing the pimax after the button combo? have you tried this method? https://youtu.be/4Ec0AKuS8ms?t=721

Yeah, the led is cycling green red blue, with or without doing the trick to put it in this mode… ( pressing all buttons , then release power after 8sec, then volume up after 8 sec )

I remember that I had to unplug my usb. make the pimax enter the dfu and then put in the usb. since my 5k plus didnt want to flash either. I had to be fast to choose the fw to flash

I tried that, first enter DFU, then plug USB. still same error.

DfuSeCommand.exe 0 P2_D264.dfu
0 Device(s) found. Plug your DFU Device !

I doesnt find my headset.

BTW Thanks a lot for trying to help

Is the LED lighting up when plugged in? which color?

that the weird thing, even not doing the 3 buttons stuff, the headset is already in DFU mode . LED is cycling red, green, blue ,without having to do it anything.
If I do the 3 buttons stuff, it also work as intended,
3 buttons => release power after 8s, led is light blue
release volume up after 8s, led is cycling

And the flasher is recognized the dfu mode or is it showing up the pimax and then its gone?

I had the same issue. It only helped to unplug everything, do the buttoncombo, plug in usb and choose fast the fw but I used the gui flasher

I don’t understand this question, I run the exe in command line : DfuSeCommand.exe, and it stop right away with an error saying it can’t find the DFU Device

C:\DRIVERS\Pimax\DFUupgrade>DfuSeCommand.exe 0 P2_D264.dfu
0 Device(s) found. Plug your DFU Device !

What GUI Flasher is it ?

Well, not working, consistent with the other tools:

Pimax Status : PIMAX not found :frowning:

you have to do the buttoncombo, start the flasher and it will show up as in dfu mode, choose fw and flash

The enter dfu button doesnt work

Dont start the flasher program before being in dfu mode

I did the button combo, and it still now seeing the headset :frowning:

Even if I dont do the button combo, the headset is already in DFU mode when I power it up… it’s a brick…

I removed ALL other devices on USB, only mouse and keyboard

Ok here is my fool proof

First task all pitool programs

unplug the usb, displayport and charger cable connection

hold Buttons, plug in the chargercable connection, make the pimax go into dfu and then plug in the usb.

start program, you might have just a few sec. since pimax is rebooting fast.

Yes its a fake dfu mode. Had the same thing, thought its dfu mode but the program says no.

Thanks for helping… but tried exactly that 3 times.
I think I checked the task manager 10 times to be sure no PI-programs is running.
Still not working :frowning:

Sorry that it didnt help, hope it gets solved!
